Driving the transition to sustainable transportACEA organised its annual Transport Policy Event in Brussels in the morning of 18 November 2010 on “Driving the transition to sustainable transport”. Tackling environmental challenges for commercial vehicles through increased efficiency, logistics optimisation, stimulation of the introduction of new technologies and fuel efficiency were at the centre of the discussion. Low emission carsDuring the European Automotive Forum on January 14 in Brussels, automotive industry experts gave insight in current R&D activities and challenges towards developing and deploying Low Emission Cars. Concrete projects in several EU Member States were presented and evaluated on their impact, feasibility and implementation timetable. The Forum was organised by FEBIAC and supported by ACEA. Global auto makers host seminar at climate change conference, CopenhagenThe global auto makers hosted a seminar on December 14, 2009 at the COP15 climate change conference in Copenhagen dedicated to CO2-reduction solutions in road transport, putting the spotlight on real-life examples involving technologies as well as transportation planners and users/consumers. A Global Approach to Sustainable Freight TransportOn December 3, 2009 in Brussels, the ACEA Annual Transport Policy Event focused on global trends and international cooperation, in particular in the field of road freight transport and energy efficiency. Advertising ChallengeIn collaboration with the European Commission and the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), the European Association of Communications Agencies (EACA) organised its second annual competition for advertising students across Europe. ACEA Freight Transport Event - Matching the Transport ChallengesOn December 10, 2008 politicians, logistics experts and commercial vehicle manufacturers met in Brussels to explore how the economic efficiency of freight transport can be maximised while minimising its environmental impact.
