ACEA

Biofuels

The ACEA position on the use of bio-diesel (FAME) and synthetic bio-fuel in engines is given in the attached document. ACEA advises owners that most current new diesel cars and diesel light-duty vehicles are designed to run efficiently on a fuel containing no more than 5% bio-diesel (B5), as is provided in the European diesel fuel standard EN590. Owners should consult their vehicle handbook or the vehicle manufacturer in case higher bio-diesel blends are likley to be used.
