ACEA European Oil Sequences 2010
The 2010 edition of the ACEA Oil Sequences is released to accommodate the continuing development and progress of engine oil requirements for European vehicle manufacturers. The 2010 Oil Sequences include raised and improved requirements including the replacement of older test engine hardware by more recent technology to better suit new engine oil formulations to the growing needs of the latest and soon to be released engine technologies. Additional and different engine oil requirements describing standard engine oils (i.e. A/B categories) and engine oils compatible with the latest engine and emission technologies (i.e. C categories) are included. The 2010 Oil Sequences are also adapted to the ongoing changes of todays fuel markets in different regions. ACEA’s on-going work to improve the requirements for engine oils will continue.
The ACEA European Oil Sequences for Service-fill Oils for Gasoline engines, for Light-Duty Diesel engines, for Gasoline & Diesel engines with aftertreatment devices and for Heavy-Duty Diesel engines. These sequences define the minimum quality level of a product for presentation to ACEA members. Performance parameters other than those covered by the tests shown or more stringent limits may be indicated by individual member companies.
ACEA itself does not certify oils or license or register compliance certificates. Oil manufacturers are themselves responsible for carrying out all oil testing and evaluation according to recognised practices. They are also responsible and liable for all claims made that their products meet the ACEA Oil Sequences.
